Fascinating Facts About the Srichakra (Sri Yantra)
What is Srichakra?
The Srichakra, or the Sri Yantra, is a geometrically sacred and mighty symbol of reverence in most nations. The ultimate means to spiritual advancement, it is believed to grant devotees the 16 auspicious gifts of life and ultimately achieve salvation. Its spiritual meaning on a deeper level is its connection with Brahma Gnana (cosmic energy knowledge) and Brahma Vidya (the art of managing cosmic energies, including the Ashtama Siddhis).
Cosmic Energy and the Srichakra
When mantras are recited—particularly during sacred fire ceremonies (Agni Puja)—the cosmic energies travel through breathing into brain cells. They get stored as cosmic energy memories. In the next life, a soul's existence and abilities greatly rely on these cosmic energy-handling capabilities. A lot of such capabilities can be perfected only in soul form, led by higher cosmic entities that guide the devotee towards emancipation.
Relation with the Human Body
Symbols such as the Vel (spear) and Trishul (trident) relate to the human brain and spinal cord, which constitute the skeletal framework of the soul's energy body. Likewise, the chakra (2D) and its 3D version, the Mahameru, depict the whole human body's nervous system integrated with the brain's energy points. They are worshipped to stimulate the brain chambers and energy nodes, through which the soul can develop as an exact replica of the material body but outside and beyond its material form.
NO. 3 Mahameru – The 3D Srichakra
The Mahameru is the three-dimensional form of the Srichakra. The Shiva Linga symbolizes Lord Shiva, whereas the Mahameru is the worship symbol of the Aadhi Paraasakthi Goddess. Performing worship of Mahameru not only attracts her blessing but also indicates cosmic energies that make the soul strong. The topmost point, which is termed as the Bindu Point, is where Aadhi Paraasakthi is said to reside, commanding divine forces and controlling immense cosmic vibrations.
Divine Vibrations & Multi-Deity Worship
Sacred sounds such as Shreem, Kleem, Hreem, Aym, and others are linked to various divine beings within Aadhi Paraasakthi’s retinue. By worshipping the Srichakra or Mahameru, devotees indirectly honor multiple traditions—Dasha Maha Vidya, the Trinities, Saktham worship, and even the Navagrahas.
Geometry of Power
The Srichakra is made up of nine interconnected triangles emanating from a central Bindu, symbolizing the throne of Aadhi Paraasakthi. The precise symmetry is not just aesthetically pleasing—it is said to be a literal template of the universe and human energy body, a journey for attunement with divine energy and the development of a whole, empowered soul in the afterlife.
